Beauty School Dropout: Malin + Goetz deodorant

Anyone else feeling a bit beady about their liberal use of aluminium-laden, pore-clogging, mass market deodorant? Every day. Often twice. Sometimes three times depending on gym, going out, freshening up situations. BSD feels that it may be time to consider the options. And the options are… natural deodorants, aren’t they? Really?

There are days when you leave the house in a polyester-dress-induced muck sweat at 7am and tear around getting more and more disgusting till 11pm. Those days demand something heavy duty. But what about the Sunday morning drift about? And the gentle post-bath supper with friends? Why not try something a little more… gentle. Let your body breathe.

Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus Deodorant is ten years old and a bit of a modern classic. Totally fresh, it is alcohol and aluminium free (some doctors have done the maths and found that aluminium can contribute to Alzheimer’s), as well as looking elegant and smelling chic. Ideal for sensitive skin, it won’t bung up pores or give you a shaving rash and it lasts well – which it should, because it starts at £12.

This stuff creates converts. Those who decide that this is the answer and that the other, more mainstream deodorants, are merely pollutants. But, even if it’s a now and again flirtation, it feels (and smells) good to be trying another way…
